Ian Benson – Managing Director
Ian began his career in production. His credits include THE MISADVENTURES OF MARGARET, and THE WEEKEND, which won the Special Jury prize at the Seattle International Film Festival. In 2001 he joined Ian Flooks at Wasted Talent where he produced the comedy feature film CONFETTI – a film which was bought for worldwide distribution by Fox Searchlight at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006. In the same year Ian joined The Agency to focus on representing film and TV directors.
May Swaney – Development Executive
After reading English at Cambridge University, May first gained experience in the film industry working was assistant to the Executive Producer on Lasse Hallstrom’s CHOCOLAT, and then as Robert Altman’s assistant on GOSFORD PARK. In her subsequent role as Development Executive at independent production company Wasted Talent, working alongside producers Ian Benson and Ian Flooks, she developed and co-produced CONFETTI.
Paul Taylor – Partner, Big Deal
With over 25 years’ experience within the television and media industry, Paul is a qualified lawyer and former Commercial Director at Granada/ITV, and has been advising high profile independent TV producers and talent for a number of years. Along with Maureen Walker he is partner in specialist business affairs consultants Big Deal. His client roster has included Peter Kay, Graham Norton’s indie SoTv, as well as All3Media. He also sits on the boards of number of TV and media businesses.
Maureen Walker – Partner, Big Deal
Maureen has been working in the production business affairs arena for more than 30 years, through her roles within ITV and more recently at Big Deal. She offers specialist guidance across the full range of on and off screen talent contract, production agreements and industrial relations. Her client work has included production business affairs for Good Night Vienna, Jellylegs, Buccaneer Media, and Kindle Entertainment. Maureen is also a member of the RTS North committee and a Board member of The Television Workshop
